Processing times
Sweden work permit processing time can vary greatly depending on the permit that is being applied for and it is also something that changes very regularly. It will always be the most recent processing time that applies so the one that applies to submitted applications so it is good to stay up-to-date on the latest processing times. In order to do this you can use the Migration Agency’s website here.
How to reduce processing times
There are a few ways in which you can try to ensure that your application is processed as fast as possible. The first way is to ensure that all documents and all required information is submitted together with your application. If the case officer needs to request additional information the processing time can sometimes be extended by a few months. We have included some guides on this website to try to help with work permit related application. There are, however, some permits that we have not covered on this website.
If we have not covered the type of permit that you will specifically be applying for we would recommend that you call the Migration Agency and discuss your application with them before the submission. They will not be able to guarantee that your application will be approved but they should be able to provide you basic guidance regarding the documents and the information that should be submitted.
The second way to reduce processing times applies only to standard work permits. This is for your employer to hire a certified relocation company. The certified relocation company will review all information and ensure that a complete application is submitted in order to avoid questions from the case officer.
The certification agreement that they have also ensures processing times of 2 weeks for first time work permit applications and 1 month for extensions. This can in some cases be significantly faster than an application that is submitted outside of the certification program
